I have two ALPHA-Cluster Systems and on both Systems the some Problem.
In the past i use Client-Stations with Windows NT4.0 to share a directory on the Cluster Disk. Now, the Clients have Windows XP prof. and I can't more share the directory on the Cluster.
System 1:
Alpha-Cluster
OpenVMS V7.1-1H1
Pathworks V6.0-000
System 2:
Alpha-Cluster
OpenVMS V6.2
Pathworks V5.0-620F
How can it work ?
Thank you

Re: Windows XP - Share
when these two Pathworks versions were current Windows XP was not even on the horizon. If you do need to support XP, you will also need to upgrade Pathworks (or Advanced Server as it is known nowadays). The current version is 7.3A ECO 2 if I am not mistaken. You will not be able to upgrade directly from your current versions. Check a recent thread here
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=447047
for a more detailed discussion of the upgrade
issues.
Greetings, Martin

Re: Windows XP - Share
I tryed with V7.2 without success.
You need V7.3 because windows xp uses cripted passwords (with kerberos) that's not supported by pathwork before V7.3;
A my customer is using ftp to exchange data with openVMS.

Re: Windows XP - Share
Perhaps you could use NFS as an alternative.
The SFU Kit from Microsoft is freely available (Services for Unix).
