Kernel memory fault , system crashed

Hello ,

I am facing a problem with our Tru64 V4.0d box. It has crashed due to Kernel memory fault. After booting it is working fine.

The error log shows ..

Patch kit installed is - DUV40DAS0007-20000816 TCR150. The patch 948.00 in this patch kit contains the solution for "trap: invalid memory read access from kernel mode" Error. I realy dont know why server is crashing once in a month.

Could anyone throw some light on this?

One Disk (Mirrored) in Non-system Domain is corrupted and Other mirrored disk is Fine . Is this problem related to system crash??

Shashi,

It's hard to determine from what you've sent. Perhaps a posting of the crash-data file (/var/adm/crash) might help. You are a couple of patch kits behind, and it's quite possible that this particular kmf is already fixed in the later kits. You could also log a call to get some analysis, and as long as it doesn't require engineering resources, we can probably give you some direction.

Question, since this happens once a month, is there something happening at this time that is unique (to the rest of the month)?
