5200ex different threaded standoffs?
Standalone drive 5200ex/C1113J
Did the rear high density 50-pin connectors undergo some change? The connectors can accept a cable with thumbscrews using the threaded standoffs or can accept a cable with the "squeeze-type" connector. I have several of these drives. Some have threaded standoffs with a flange and also are a bit longer. The cable I want to use is an Adaptec (68-pin VHDCI/Male to 50-pin High Density/Male) with "squeeze-type" connector. It fits fine on some drives but not the drives w/longer threaded standoffs w/flange. In this case the cable will not secure properly. Why specifically was this change done and when (i.e. by serial number cutoff, etc)? What is the solution? Is there a p/n for the shorter standoff so I can change them? Does anyone know of a similar cable that will fit ALL of my drives correctly (e.g. preferably one with thumbscrews)?
