cd write problem
System: CD-RW OME-W141 speed(4x,2x,1x,Windows 98 SE,Pentium iii 600MHz, 128MB Ram. Hard Disk Primary Master, IDE CD-RW secondary slave DVD -ROM secondary master.
Problem: Failure to write whole disk Using Hp RecordNow software for both exact copying and also making data disk. Only about 17 percent of disk is written even after taking all precautions to avoid buffer underruns ie Defrag Hdisk, rebooting system prior to write, use of slowest write speed (1x), writing to hard disk first, turnoff read ahead on HD and auto insert, shutting down all other programs, disabling screen saver and antivirus software. I get the following error messages (which I dont understand the meaning of)
Disk write error-Sense:03 ASC:OC ASCQ:00 (Command 2a)
OME-w141(E:)ATAPI(1.40)(1x)
Matshitta DVD-ROM SR8584A(D:) SCSI(f15c)(1x)
PX.DLL-1.1.0.297
PXMAS.dll-1.5.0.94
PXWAVE.DLL-1.2.0.75
OLEAUT32.DLL-2.40.4275.1
MSuBVM60.DLL-6.0.88.77
MSCOMCTL.OCX-6.0.88.62
MSCOMCT2>OCX-6.0.88.4
PXHELPER.VXD-1.0.0.6
I have uninstalled RecordNow and tried Easy CD creator 3.5c without installing Direct CD on the system or having any Iomega software on. This consistently now gives the following four error messages:
T0100:I/O error (06/C5/00) write error buffer underrun
T0100:I/O error (03/0c/00) write error
T7127: Track writer error flush failed
T7118: Trackwriter error Command retry failed.
In the past I have been able to make data disks at x2 speed with no problem on my system. However, I only once managed to make a single audio disk after which I ran into this underrun problem. Any ideas how to proceed from here? ( I think the CR-RW is ok in that it reads fine and writes readable tracks before it fails part way through)
