cdrecord problem
I'm trying to get the CD burner working on a RX2620 machine running HPUX 11iv2. cdrecord doesn't seems to work, and replies with a log that includes (what i think is the relevant part)
cdrecord: I/O error. close track/session: scsi sendcmd: retryable error
CDB: 5B 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION)
Sense Bytes: 70 00 05 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 72 04 00 00 00 00
Sense Key: 0x5 Illegal Request, Segment 0
Sense Code: 0x72 Qual 0x04 (empty or partially written reserved track) Fru 0x0
Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid)
cmd finished after 0.008s timeout 480s
cmd finished after 0.008s timeout 480s
cdrecord: Cannot fixate disk.
Fixating time: 0.016s
cdrecord: fifo had 86 puts and 23 gets.
cdrecord: fifo was 0 times empty and 4 times full, min fill was 89%.
the error seems to suggest a problem with the CDR, but after trying with a good handful of different CDRs, it seems unlikely the problem is there.
My understanding of the whole CD burning process borders on non-existant, :-) so I'm at a loss as to what the problem could potentially be, and what i can do to figure out where the problem lies (could it still be bad CDRs, bad drive, problem with cdrecord, etc?), does anyone have any suggestions?
if it helps, cdrecord was launched in TAO mode, tried a variety of write speeds and no other directives other than pointing it to the right drive.
