Continual CDR errors - every time
Help please,
I have an internal 7200 CD writer installed, purchased it about 8 months ago.
Having rebuilt my system and installed it in this I am failing **every single**
Cd write with the error message,"T0100, I/O error, CD error, power calibration
area is full".... the what is full!!
I have not got an idea how to resolve this and have tried verious media makes
and get the same error every time.
If you can help, and don't want to snarl this forum up then please email me
direct... this is actually preferable as I have easier and more frequent access
to email than Web.
Thanks in advance.
Graham Williams

Re: Continual CDR errors - every time
I finally solved the problem! There is an obscure URL (http://www.stas.net/drwalk/) that explains the actual cause. It has something to do with the design of the drive, and it is a hardware issue. I called HP and they promptly sent me a replacement drive. Fortunately mine was still under warranty. I haven't had any problems since.
Good luck!
