installing the 8200e usb problems

I boot in to windows ME and insert the usb cable for my 8200e, windows finds a usb device called "HP mesa" and asks for the drivers i insert the floppy with the drivers on and it says that "the drivers do not contain information for this device" i have tried manually installing the hp usb hub then the 8200e usb drivers but this causes a windows protection fault can anyone help?

Re: installing the 8200e usb problems

Andy,

Are you using the right drivers for your 8200e?
Have you tried to plug in the cable first and then startup Windows?? Try to download the newest version of your drivers and try again.

Let me know what happened.

Rudy,
Thanks for replying!

i have both tried booting with the cable in and inserting the cable after windows has loaded the drivers i have are the ones currently on the hp site (attached).

Re: installing the 8200e usb problems

Just remembered,
It seems that windows is looking for some kind of mesa bridge drivers maybe pci to usb? which i think is the euiosmsd.inf as it contains the line USB_PDR.DeviceDesc="HP Mass Storage Class Adapter"

maybe i have to install this first in some way?
