management software

I have a used HP 80ex and I am looking for a lowcost software that will allow me to control how the library works via API's etc for me to use my own application to move files to/from the library. I am considering purchasing another newer used UDO unit and was going to try to use RSS but would appear very few systems work with it.

Any suggestions, thoughts etc? I am only building a small prototype system to see if it can work the way we need it to.

Thanks

Re: management software

Hi,

Veritas Backup Exec does support 80ex.
Refer following doc
http://www.tim.de/Datenblattverzeichnis/Veritas/BE90_Dev_Ma.htm

I am not sure if RSS would work with UDO
Take a look at

I see the basic features supported on Window XP

Re: management software

Thank you, not wanting to backup the Optical Library but wanted to be able to control the library such as:

What is the currently installed inventory of the media (both in the drive and in slots)

Format or prep a Media, move files from the network to Media etc.

There are several out there but they are in the 5k+. RSS would work fine but finding a
Optical library that works with RSS under windows 2003 is a bit of a problem.
