Record Now 3.0 generates runtime error 429

I just installed Record Now 3.0 but it when your try to launch it it generates a 429 runtime error - Active X cannot create component. There is also no un-install. Any suggestions?

Unistall HP CD Wtiter software in the Add/Remove programs.
Run msconfig and under the general tab click onto 'selective startup'. Remove the tick from process config.sys, process autoec.bat & load startup group items. Click apply & ok and reboot the system.
Now try reinstalling the software again.
