Stop: 0x0000007B error

I recently tried to re-install the scanner software for my USB connected HP 4100c on my windows 2000 system. After installation I was required to reboot and when the system booted back up I encounter a stop error during the OS load during the Win2k splash screen. The error reads "Stop:0x000000B (0xF081F84C, 0c0000034, 0x000000000,0x00000000)Inaccessible Boot Device". I believe that the system is mistakenly looking for a SCSI connection where none exists. How can I resolve this problem so that I can boot my system successfully?

hi
at boot time press the space bar, you will get a menu where you can access to a option:"Last Known Good Configuration", select it and good luck

Hey Marino,
Thanks for your input. I already tried using last known good to no avail. Also pulled the drive and placed it as a slave in another win2k machine and ran a disk check on it. When I re-connected in the origninal machine I still get the same error message.

Re: Stop: 0x0000007B error

hi Matthew, usualy this message appear during boot process when the system load the driver for the controller on which is located the boot hdd.
If you have a scsi hdd, then try to recopy the original scsi drivers (if adaptec something like aic78xx.sys or sym... for symbios controller).
If this drive is already good, it may be that when installing the scanner you install a usb driver or a other driver which get priority on the original driver. in this case I don't know how to tell the sistem to remove it or how to solve, try to post this question n the windows forum
as a last resource you can try to repair your system througt recovery console
