Error installing RDP

I get the following two errors when installing RDP when this happen the installation stops and I cannot continue. This is a newly built Windows 2003 Server with SP1.

1 - Error -132 occured installing or updating a file. The file could be locked or in use. Stop all Altiris and DS services manually including remote processes including consoles and restart the installation.

2 - Error: Altiris Deployment Server 6.8 SP1 failed to install. [1029]

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

HI,

Try this,

Stop all Altiris services through Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services.

or

Another good way would be to start "MSCONFIG" via START->RUN.
Choose "Hide all microsoft services", and disable the rest.

And then give this a try.

I'll check that out. I looked to see if there were services but I didn't try MSConfig. It doesn't look like it got far enough to install any services yet but it may be something running under MSConfig.

MSConfig and stopping all non MS Services worked like a champ. Not sure which one was hanging it up but the installation went through as expected.
