service pack 1 deployment without slipstreaming.

Is it possible to install SP1 after the windows 2003 is deployed?

I know there are certain known issues with slipstreaming SP1 to the installation.

But I want a package SP1 to be deployed.

How should I do this?

Many thanks!

Hi, here's is the command for doing a quit install of windows 2003 SP1

Assuming I386 is the directory containing the SP1 files.

c:\i386\update\update.exe /passive /norestart /d:c:\temp\SP1backup

Hope this helps.

Re: service pack 1 deployment without slipstreaming.

Sorry for my double post. I have some communication problems with the forums.

Double click the file.

It will extract all file into a temp directory.

Just before the welcome screen.

Hijack this temp directory by renaming it.

Close the welkom screen and cancel the SP installation.

Now jou have the files.

Hope this helps.

Re: service pack 1 deployment without slipstreaming.

Hope you can now further.

You copie them within the $oem$ directory.

In the runonce.cmd I launch the setup as described above.

Let me know it you need further readings..

To extract Microsoft service pack files, run WindowsServer2003-KB889101-SP1-x86-ENU.exe /x which will prompt you for a location to extract the files to.
