Smartstart Update
Currently using RDP to deploy are images with version 7.00 of smartstart. Just download the 7.30 cd, but need to know the best way to update the source files on my server to use this new version... IT does'nt look like I can just copy the CD across. Anybody have any ideas on how to acheive this. Thansk.

Re: Smartstart Update
which version of RDP you are using. I can help you out if you are using RDP WE 2.00 or above or RDP LE 1.20.

Re: Smartstart Update
The only files you care about on the Smart CD are in D:\compaq\csp\
Linux
NT (Windows 2000/2003)
NW (Netware)
Iâ m going to assume your question deals with Windows.
The directory structure changed from 1.6 and 2.x.
In 1.6 you should create a new directory under the OS and update your RDP script to use the new directory. Under [C:]\Program Files\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\Deploy\cds\compaq youâ ll see ss.710 create a ss.730 then under the ss.730 create a directory for each OS {w2k, wnet}. Copy the contents from the CD [D:]\compaq\csp\nt into [C:]\Program Files\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\Deploy\cds\compaq\wnet {for example}. You need to copy to both OS w2k and wnet if you deploy both. Then edit *all* your jobs and change the â Install OSâ task where ss=ss.710 to ss.730.
OR in 1.6 change nothing and just overwrite the contents in [C:]\Program Files\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\Deploy\cds\compaq\wnet and [C:]\Program Files\Altiris\eXpress\Deployment Server\Deploy\cds\compaq\w2k with the CD contents.
Donâ t forget to go in and configure the agents settings.
For RDP 2.1 see the RDP-WE_UserGuide.pdf page 3-14 [if you need more information let me know and I will expand o
