Adding a Second CPU
I currently have a single CPU 450 MHZ model. I recently purchaed a processor option kit (313618-B21) which contains a second 450MHZ cpu. I upgraded the BIOS to the latest revision 4.15A. Then I tried to physically install the CPU and PPM. When I boot the system all that happens is the Compaq Screen flashes for a second then the system reboots itself. This becomes an endless loop. As soon as I remove the components, the system boots up normally. I received to PPM's in my kit, 327563-001(spare 327660-001) and 320266-001(spare 329267-001). I have tried the CPU with both PPM's and it does the same thing. Is there something else in this process I need to do prior to installing the components? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
Greg

Re: Adding a Second CPU
Dear Greg,
There is nothing special you need to do before install the CPU. After it's installed and you can boot into the F10 partition then we have some work to do. One thing you can try is to clear NVRAM.
The part number of 329267-001 is for a 500,550 and 600 mhz. Please do not use this. Can you remove the CPU that works and install the one you received with the option kit. This will tell us if you have a bad cpu and vice versa with the ppm.
Keep me posted.
