Cache Module P222 Array Controller is not attached
We have a Proliant DL 320e Gen8 v2, this server has a P222 smart array controller (512 MBytes Cache) and two SAS hard disks and 12 Gbytes of RAM.
The Smart Storage Administrator shows the next error: Smart Array P222 is disable because the cache module is not attached. Please re-attached the cache module to re-enable the controller.
We did:
- Check the cache battery (FBWC). It is good, it has 5.4 volt.
- Re - attach the cache module with and without hard disks.
We appreciate your help.

Re: Cache Module P222 Array Controller is not attached
Hello,
The checking of Voltage may not sometimes be an effective way to determine if the battery is good or not.
If you have the Array Diagnostic Utility installed you can run the test and see what it reports.
If you have a spare battery you can test it or replace it with a new battery and leave it on charge for 24 hrs and see if that changes, Unless there is a physical connection issue the issue shd be resolved with doing that.
If the unit is under support/contract with HPE , you can collect the Active Health System Logs and log a support case and you will get the additional support you need.
I am an HPE Employee.
Regards.
