HP iLO 3.1.0.0 installation error

Dear all,

On several HP Proliant ML/DL servers with Windows 2003 (x32/x64) I can't get the HP iLO online congifuration utility version 3.1.0.0 installed. I get an error message that's not saying much:

"====== HP Smart Update Manager Installation Log ======
===========================================================================
Source: cp012903.exe
Version: 3.1.0.0
Log Date: 7/5/2010 11:30:20

Log Session Start...

Executing setup utility - cpqsetup.exe...

**CRITICAL** - Unable to start setup utility - cpqsetup.exe"

It happens after a 'Visual studio just-in-time debugging'-error screen.

Never had this before, so is it a problem with this typical iLO online config util version?

Thanks for your replies ;-)

HP Proliant DL380G5's and ML370G4(p)/350G4(p)'s.

Already tried on one server to use latest HP iLO firmware (2.0), but still doesn't work. Will check it again to be sure. Remaining servers run latest iLO(2) firmware (not 2.0).

You probably have to install latest MS updates for this to work.

Elseway i'ld try an earlier version.

Re: HP iLO 3.1.0.0 installation error

Well probably HP Supportpack 8.50 detected wrong packages or so.

Updated iLO firmware from 1.82 > 2.00, installed packages 3.1.0.0 manually and no errors.

Anyhow, I'm happy.

Thanks people.
