Hyper-Threading Enable/Disable

How can I check to see if my DL360 has Hyper-Threading enabled or disabled? Also, how do I change this setting?

Thanks

Re: Hyper-Threading Enable/Disable

Brian:

Steps for disabling Hyper-threading
1. Disabling Hyper-threading option under BIOS F10 Setup:
1. Press the F10 key go enter the RBSU.
2. Use the arrow key to move to the Advanced tab, then select Device Options. Press Enter.
3. Use the arrow key to change Hyper-Threading from Enabled to Disabled.
4. Press F10 to accept the change.
5. To "Save Changes and Exit" Press Enter, then press F10 to confirm.
2. Restart the computer
Enjoy!

Re: Hyper-Threading Enable/Disable

Thanks John, do you know if the Hyper-Threading is enabled by default? The server is in production and I cannot access the BIOS at this time, I would like to find out if Hyper-Threading is enabled or not.

Thanks

Re: Hyper-Threading Enable/Disable

On G3 servers it should be enabled by default.

Just curious... why would you turn it off?
Enjoy!

Re: Hyper-Threading Enable/Disable

I was reading through some Citrix documentation and they suggested turning on Hyper-Threading to realize a 30% gain in performance. Their termonoligy suggested that it is turned off by default. I wanted to insure that it is turned on without rebooting the server.

Thanks for your help.
