Need Processor Installation Tool?
I'm trying to install a second processor in an ML 350 G5. I ordered the processor and the heat sink. The manual says to use a plastic "processor installation tool" to insert the processor into the socket. The processor came with the grease you need, but not the processor installation tool. I don't see a processor installation tool on the HP parts website. Is there a way to get the processor installation tool? Do I need one, or can it just set the processor into the socket by hand?
P.S. This thread has been moved from Servers > General to ProLiant Servers (ML,DL,SL).

Re: Need Processor Installation Tool?
Yes, you can do it by hand. The tool is useful if you have to work fast, but if you can take the time to be careful, it is not absolutely necessary.

Re: Need Processor Installation Tool?
The tool is provided on some options to make the installation "idiot proof" (lining up right pins and notches).
