Network Performance Concerns
Hello,
I am slightly concerned about LAN performance in my datacentre.
The servers are DL3xx G5 ProLiants and are connected using WS-X6148-GE-TX modules in a Cisco 6509 switch. I have done some basic testing copying a 1GB file between servers and I never manage to get more than about 58% throughput at any time.
Has anybody experienced a similar problem?
Thanks for your help
Steve

Re: Network Performance Concerns
After looking around the forum a bit more I'm starting to think the performance issue is a "feature" of the broadcom NIC's
I've disabled TCP/IP TX/RX Offload, Large Send Offload, TOE, RSS, dropped the NIC Team (and in fact removed the network configuration utility), set TCP1323Opts, TCPWindowSize, etc. in the registry but it makes little or no difference.
It seems the only unexplored option is to purchase some Intel NIC's and try them out...
