Tape Eject ?

Every few months I find it almost IMPOSSIBLE to eject a tape from the internal DDS4 20/40 tape drive on our ML570 Server using the Removable Media MMC in Win2K without having to reboot. I literally can't even get the tape's light to blink!

Drives me crazy.

Any suggestions beyond rebooting the server?

Okay, I figured 'er out.

Under the Removable Storage Manager, if you right-click the hardware media line item you're having trouble with and then choose 'Full' Inventory method, for some reason it happily starts looking at my tape again.

Odd.
