Re: update the video BIOS.

I opened up a case in our database for your issue. This is the case number: C001121-832. Please reference it in all future correspondence or contact.

You do not say what version of Carbon Copy you tried to install nor why you can't continue but it appears that you encountered some problem with your video.

There is a known issue with the old Carbon Copy version 5.1 such that when CC is installed on Win NT 4.0, you may get a blue screen after the reboot which references ccvideo4.dll.

This problem only exists with version 5.1 and not the current version 5.5, and can happen either during a new install, or an upgrade from 5.0 to 5.1.

When installing version 5.1 you must make sure that there are no other remote control products on that machine! The problem lies with a conflict between DLLs and the way that they link in to the video layer.

There are two paths that can be taken here, depending on the File System that NT is on.

If the file system is FAT32:
Boot into DOS using a floppy.
Go into C:\WinNT\System32
Rename CCVIDEO4.DLL to something else
Reboot into NT
Uninstall the other remote control product(ex. PC Anywhere, Rapid Remote, Remotely Possible, etc.)
Reinstall Carbon Copy

If the file system is NTFS:
The key is to be able to get to the files. If you have a utility to get to the files (NTFS-DOS), or have an administrator that can change your files remotely through the network, or if you have an emergency repair disk, use these utilities, and follow the steps listed above for the FAT32 file system.

If not, follow the steps below:
Install Windows NT to a different directory (i.e. WINNT2)
Boot into the second installation of NT (usually the top selection at the boot screen)
Rename CCVIDEO4.DLL to something else
Boot back into the first installation of NT
Uninstall the conflicting remote control software
Reinstall Carbon Copy
Delete the directory with the second NT installation
