Oracle Linux 7.9

Hi,

We are deploying Oracle on Oracle linux 7.9.

I believe it is not officially supported, but I be interested to know if anyone has experienced any issues?

Hello @AWR,

Are you planning to add them to the RMC backup schedule? Is your query about if the backup is supported in RMC?

Re: Oracle Linux 7.9

Thank you for your response,

I think my query was a bit confusing. We have installed Oracle Linux 7.9 on our HPE Proliant servers, and it is running perfectly. My query was more around will RMC work with Oracle Linux 7.9, Oracle databse, and the copy data management functionality? I would really appreciate it if anyone has had any experience they can share?

Re: Oracle Linux 7.9

Hi,

Thank you for your response, my query is about the copy data management functionality. We want to "snapclone" the production database so we can then mount it on the development servers. We may use it for backup, but our Oracle DBAs are not keen on using snapshots for backup.

Re: Oracle Linux 7.9

Hello @AWR,

On your 3PAR/Primera, you can create clone of the database volume, Promote the clone as volume, then export/mount it to the development servers. No need of RMC backup.

If RMC backup involvement is required, please let me know.
