Disk Space Thresholds Critical/Warning

I'm trying to configure notifications to help prevent hard disks filling up. In a large environment, this can generate a lot of messages. I would like to send e-mails at the warning level and pages at the critical level. However, the disk space thresholds generate only one type of event, critical, and I can't find any other criteria to filter my pager notification with. Any suggestions would be appreciated, Thanks

Re: Disk Space Thresholds Critical/Warning

What are you trying to filter out? Basically, all the filtering has to be done on the Query level. The notifications simply send out an email depending upon your notification interval, or if you designate it to send one out when new devices meet the query criteria. Let me know what you're trying to filter, and I'll try to point you in the right direction.

Re: Disk Space Thresholds Critical/Warning

Trying to filter out the events for the warning level. I'm familier with the queries and filtering & my notifications are set to use my custom queries.

I'll try to explain below:

Disk thresholds can have two settings, a warning level and a critical level. I set my warning level at 85% and critical level at 95%. When the disk space is 85% used, I would like to receive an e-mail notification, a notification task that I have set up already for major events. When the disk space is 95% used, I would like to receive a page, a notification task I have set up for critical events.

The problem: When the disk space reaches 85% or 95%, a critical (red x) (Event: User Threshold - Rising Alarm (rev. 3)) event is logged.

Hope that makes it more clear what I am trying to do.

Thanks all.

Re: Disk Space Thresholds Critical/Warning

Joe,

Can you tell me what you have set up query/notification wise for disk utilization? I can not get any messages to work as of yet in this area.
If you don't do it right the first time, you can always pay me twice as much to fix it.
