IM 7.2 Automatic Discovery does not complete

I am running IM 7.2 (MSSQL 2000 sp3) on a DL580 - dual PIII 2GB. Automatic Discovery never completes. I manage over 550 nodes over several subnets, including over a WAN. I have monitored links and network is not a bottle neck. Discovery started on 11/23 and is only at 19% today, 11/25. Are there limitations in the software?

You might want to try starting with just the local subnet, running Auto-Discovery and then increasing the scope to determine where the problems lie.

I don't know of any limitations in size. But we're nowhere near as large a site as you. We're only managing around 80 NT Nodes.

I have a total of 300 devices in IM7, and discovery takes no longer than 15 minutes. I would suggest you look at things like your network adapter on the IM7 server. Make sure it is running at correct speed and duplex settings. If the server is attached to a cisco switch, disable the auto detect fature for your NICs and set them to 1000/100/full. My opinion is that your're experiencing a network configuration issue.
