Insight Manager 7 E-Mail Notification

Trying to get Insight Manager 7 to e-mail me via smtp but it will only e-mail internal addresses on our domain. When I try an external address like an e-mail to sms paging service it fails with an error of unable to relay. Any ideas?

You will have set up IM to use your internal Mail System (Exchange Perhaps)
You then send that an e-mail for an external address but it has been configured to Not Relay e-mail.

You might be able to use the Application Launch feature and run a job that would use an SMTP Mailer like Blat that has been configured to point to your external e-mail gateway.

I don't understand what you mean - shouldn't insight manager just forward on the recipient via the sender address i have configured under e-mail server?

Brendan,

Your email server will probably be configured to NOT relay email from your IM server. If you are using Exchange you need to configure your SMTP Virtual Server. On the Access tab of the SMTP Properties window choose Relay, then enter the IP of your IM server. It should then be able to send your IM emails to an external address.
