MIB problems

We just added some HP devices to CIM 7.2 Sp3.
These devices keep giving errors, like capacityy warnig, drive swapped etc.
Wehn taking a closer look we see:

Mib data does not match the trap, make sure the latest version of the MIB is registered. The SNMP OID is 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.23

The associated MIB File Name for this trap is HPTRAP.MIB and the MIB identifier HPOTHERTRAP-MIB

Any one know how to replace the MIB? Is this on the CIM server or is it a problem with the HP agents?

Re: MIB problems

FWIW I've loaded what was the latest version of this MIB I could find, yet I'm still getting traps from devices that aren't in the MIB either...
specific 24098, 34356, 34357, etc.
Looks like the "real" latest version of this MIB hasn't really hit "the streets"... :-(

Re: MIB problems

Which "HP devices" are we talking about? The 11 enterprise is the classic HP assigned number. IM7 only has the ability to manage NetServers. If you are using HP9000 or Integrity servers you should update to HP Systems Insight Manager, the replacement for IM7 (which is now end-of-life).

Re: MIB problems

in my case I don't know what devices they are; they're Windoze servers at a remote site. I'm just trying to accomodate the traps they're generating. Even a google search for the OIDs didn't find anything; nor did mibdepot.
1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.23.0.24098, .34356, .34357

It'd be nice if these MIBs would get posted somewhere (searchable by web botz) when they changed...

Re: MIB problems

What does IM7 tell you they are? If they're Netservers, everything should be cool. If they're Integrity servers running Windows-64 the IM7 does not have the ability to manage them. If by any chance they are HP desktops, IM7 doesn't manage them; you need HP Client Manager, the successor to TopTools for clients.

Re: MIB problems

in my case I'm not running IM; just OV NNM. All I can see from NNM is that they're Windows systems. :-(

NNM doesn't know what the traps mean, as the last MIB I found and loaded for that group of traps didn't include those "newer?" traps;
"no format in trapd" - so I don't know whether these traps are important or not... But WOULD like to locate the MIB that would tell me.

Re: MIB problems

You are posting in the IM7 forum, particularly a thread begun about IM7. May I suggest you post in the NNM forum.
