Threshold CPU

I want to set a threshold for used CPU on my fileserver. But what I want is the following: if the CPU 15 minutes has a load of 100% then I want a warning. Not if it is just a peek of just 1 or 2 secs.

Re: Threshold CPU

Unfortunately, there is no way to set the threshold directly like you state. Keep in mind though, if the processor peaks for a second, an event will not be sent. The agents look at a "mini-trend" before sending the event. There are some internal "timers" it uses when monitoring processor utilization.

Is this what you are seeing?

Thanks.

Re: Threshold CPU

Today I found something what will work: from the Managements Agents for servers Subsystems Reference Guide: Threshold Alarms. Alarms are sent when the performance property value meets the threshold conditions and stays for 15 data collection intervals. The data collection interval is set in the Compaq Management Agents Control Panel appletl under Windows Control Panel Settings.
So if you set the SNMP datacollection on 2 minutes then you get a error after 30 minutes.
