Version Control can't log in

The version control agent on the CIM7 server (the VCRM is also on this same server) cannot login to itself. The Management Agents are all fine and I can get to the vcagent page on this server, I just cannot set the security for it. Every other server can use the VCRM just fine. I have already tried un-installing the VC Agent and re-installing it, but that didn't help. I get this error message "The VCRM Server could not be accessed using the specified account and password."

Any ideas on how to get around this?

Re: Version Control can't log in

Try using the Group Configuration task.
Select a Server where the VC Agent works as expected and then push this to the Server with the problems.
You'll need to force it to push this version over the already current version.
This should ensure that you've got the correct credentials.

Re: Version Control can't log in

I had thought about this solution (and tried it), but you can't run a group config task against the CIM7 server itself. Any idea where the VC Agent security is actually stored (file, registry...) and I can just manually copy the config over.

Re: Version Control can't log in

I'm surprised you cannot do it that way, mind you I've never tried to do the IM Server itself.

I think the file is:
C:\compaq\wbem\cpqhmmd.acl

The other way would be to run the Remote Deployment Utility (setup.exe from the softpaq)
Configure the VC Agent from this and push this to the IM Server. This does work against the IM Server as it's how I generally push the software to it.

I'm not sure if the IM keeps a separate Administer password for the VC Agent and IM Agent. So, the password file above may contain multiple entries.
