Version Control Repository

It seems no matter what I do the only thing that shows up in my catalogue on the repository is the array configuration utility for NT4. I have downloaded EVERYTHING including the full Windows 2000 and NT4 support packs and this is still the only thing that shows. Help!

Re: Version Control Repository

I made directories underneath my VCRepository folder ( VCRepository\Support Pack 6.30 ) and copied the extracted PSPs into those. And it's working, but I'm not sure if that was the recommended way, I got sick of reading the user/admin guides.
What did HP do to Compaq :-( !?

Re: Version Control Repository

Understood but I'm also trying to use the automatic download feature or Active Update and I think this would stop me doing this. If anyone can suggest an alternative I would be greatfull.

Re: Version Control Repository

I'm having the same problem. I originally created the repository and put the 6.10 software in it. I have since tried to download the 6.40 software into the same directory. I rescanned it and it still shows just the 6.10. I have created separate directories, still just 6.10. I even created a new repository directory, put the 6.40 in it and nothing. I then copied the 6.10 into it and voila, 6.10 showed up but no 6.40. What else can be done?

Re: Version Control Repository

what version are you running?
is it 2.0.0.50?

If not, download the latest version from HP's web site and install it.

Re: Version Control Repository

To back up Jadrice, what version of the Repository Manager are you running.

Version 2.0.0.50 is the latest.
Get it as it resolves a lot of problems with Repositories not being detected.

Within this you need to configure the Repository to locate the softpaqs.
I have a top level directory and then create several sub-directories under that.
This allows me to keep non-softpaq items (ROM BIOS etc) in a separate location.

You point the Repository to the top level directory.

With the new VCRM you will know that it has found the files as it will create a cpxxxxxx.mnf file for each cpxxxxxx.exe.

I can only think this is a configuration issue. The VCRM works very well. There's the occasional cpxxxxx release that doesn't work with the VCRM, but the softpaqs certainly work okay.
