How to access iLO from external client

Hi all,

we have a Proliant Server with iLO Advanced which we are trying to access from a remote location. The server has 3 NICs, A is for LAN, B is for internet-access and C is for iLO.
As B and C are both connected to the hardware firewall they remain in the same subnet, while B has IP .13 and C has IP .14.
If I now enter the IP of C from a client belonging to the LAN of the server, I can access iLO without any problems.
But how can I access iLO from a remote location? The ISP used at the server's site provides us with a static IP adress and if for example I enter https:///exhange into my browser, I get access to Outlook Web Access, as incoming request are redirected to NIC B by the firewall. How do I have to configure the firewall and what do I have to enter in my browser in order to access iLO?

Thanks in advance!
Jens

In Remote Client Enter the IP address assigned to iLO in the Browser. That will do.
http://

Or you can Telnet/SSH to iLO.

Please refer to the User guide for more information.

Re: How to access iLO from external client

Hi again,

obviously I have not made the problem clear enough.
Let's say the IP for iLO is 192.168.x.x.
And let's say the external static IP the ISP assigns is 80.139.y.y

Entering 192.168.x.x while being at a remote location won't make any sense as I suppose everyone will agree.
Entering 80.139.y.y will get me to the server's site and for example https://80.139.y.y/exhange will lead me to Outlook Web Access.
But incoming requests via 80.139.y.y are in general routed to NIC B as stated out in my original post. Therefore the question remains: How do I get a connection to NIC C from a remote client?

Once again, thanks in advance!

One more addition:
Telnet and SSH do work if we configure the firewall accordingly. But then we are lacking the GUI which we would definitely prefer to use.

Hi there,
I am just wondering if you have managed to solve this? I am having the same issue. I am able to connect to the Http site but not the HTTPS side of it.

try use port forwading. configure your firewall to forward all queries regarding ILO to your internal ILO address. configure also your ILO to accept this port service that you are going to use in port forwarding.
