Ilo Amplifier pack not sending email alert
Hi i'm having issues with the alert mail on Ilo Amplifier pack 2.20,
i've setted it up correctly and the test mail works and even when you add a server that fails.
But if there is an hardware failure i don't recive any notification.
i enabled everything in the "Alert Category" setting
i have 52 server added to Ilo AMP, so i't frequent that there is a failure and i never recived anyting.

Hi,
Thanks for you help, i've readed the docs and the notification it's confugured correctly.
The test email works and even when you add a server and it fails, but for everything else there is no notification..

You may give a try to below ones:
>> Verify that the email settings in the iLO Amplifier Pack are correct. Make sure you have entered the correct SMTP server address, port number, username, password, and email address for both sender and recipient.
>> Sometimes, email notifications can be filtered as spam by your email provider. Check your spam or junk folder to see if the alerts are being redirected there.
>>Make sure that the email server you are using is compatible with the iLO Amplifier Pack. Some email servers may have specific requirements or configurations that need to be met for email alerts to work correctly.
>> Try using different email addresses (e.g., personal email, different domain) to test if the issue is specific to a particular email address or domain.
>> Update iLO Amplifier Pack
>> If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it's recommended to reach out to the support team for the iLO Amplifier Pack.So they may check and guide you further.

Meanwhile, thanks for the support.
I just found out what the problem is.
the SMTP configuration is correct.
the problem of not sending emails is that alert events are not generated.
this is because when an event occurs on an ILO, the ilo itself communicates the event to the ILO amplifier pack by calling the local ip of the ilo amplifier pack on port 443 tcp.
my amplifier pack is behind NAT.
in fact, the only email notifications i receive are those generated by our local server able to contact the ILO amplifier pack with the local IP.
is there a way to tell the ILOs of the various servers we monitor (about 60 servers) to use the public IP and not the local IP?

If your iLO Amplifier Pack is behind a NAT and the iLOs of the servers you monitor are using the local IP to communicate with the Amplifier Pack, you can try configuring the iLOs to use the public IP instead. Here are a few steps you can take:
>> Update iLO network settings: Access the iLO web interface of each server and navigate to the network settings. Update the network configuration to use the public IP address of the iLO Amplifier Pack instead of the local IP. This ensures that the iLOs communicate with the correct IP address.
>> Configure port forwarding on your NAT router to forward incoming traffic on port 443 TCP to the internal IP address of the iLO Amplifier Pack. This allows the iLOs to reach the Amplifier Pack through the NAT.
>> Ensure that any firewalls or security groups on your network allow incoming traffic on port 443 TCP to reach the iLO Amplifier Pack. This ensures that the iLOs can establish a connection with the Amplifier Pack.
>> If you have a domain name associated with your public IP, consider configuring DNS settings so that the iLOs can resolve the domain name to the public IP of the Amplifier Pack. This can be helpful if the iLOs require a hostname or domain name to establish communication.
It's important to note that the exact steps to perform these configurations may vary depending on your specific network setup and the iLO interface of your servers. Therefore, I recommend referring to the iLO documentation or consulting with your network administrator for detailed instructions specific to your environment.
Additionally, it's advisable to ensure that the NAT and network infrastructure are properly configured to handle the traffic and maintain security. If you're unsure about making these changes, it may be beneficial to seek assistance from the support team for your network equipment and iLO Amplifier Pack.
