Please help - Reset iLO don't know default admin pass.
iLO**confidential info erased**-GEN10
I don't have the label with the info on it and I seem to have lost the default pass after I changed it. I reset the iLO to default and now I can't login.
I have updated my Gen10+ to the latest firmware / iLO etc (Ilo5?) I don't know but it's all up to date.
I read about a switch on the motherboard for another system but I took it apart and there are no switches on this to bypass the admin pass or anything.

Re: Please help - Reset iLO don't know default admin pass.
Hello,
Based on the serial number, this is a Microserver Gen10 Plus server. If you check the maintenance and service guide for this server, you will find that the switch bank you are looking for is beneath the PCI riser in the server:
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00073374en_us&page=GUID-A57E7DA1-8569-492A-8232-728F1D83CEA9.html
It is item #4 in the illustration. You should be able to use switch 1 in that switch bank to override the iLO password (assuming the iLO is set for "Production" mode).

Re: Please help - Reset iLO don't know default admin pass.
Thanks guys, but what I did was just use a keyboard and my mini VGA screen and load up iLO at the system and then change the password, now I can login remotely and change it etc.
Thanks again for the quick replies.

I notided this..
I have no idea what my license was. is there any way to recover it? didn't think resetting it would clear this too.
Edit: Nevermind I still have the email from the key I bought on ebay from 2021.

IS that switch underneath the mobo? I was just curious about it and I don't see it anywhere in my picture and the server is back together now.

Re: Please help - Reset iLO don't know default admin pass.
Hello,
The switch is underneath the PCI riser board that contains your PCI cards. It would likely require you to remove the riser to get to the switch bank. The document I provided also gives some details on removal / replacement procedures, so if you are unsure of removing the riser you should see the information in the doc.
