Registering ILO with DNS
System:
HP Proliant DL380 G3 with Advanced ILO installed.
Firmware:
DL380 - 2004.09.15
ILO - 1.64
Problem:
Unable to get the ILO to register with a DNS server. The ILO will, however register with a WINs server.
Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Re: Registering ILO with DNS
We run Windows Server 2003 DNS with secure updates. iLO is unable to register since Windows does not trust it. We have to manually input iLOs into DNS because of this security feature.

Re: Registering ILO with DNS
Also make sure that the iLO DNS name is valid for DNS. Check the iLO help page under Network settings for tips in this respect.
