alerting wbem firewall
hit @all
just to be sure, that i anderstand it right.
at the moment it is not possible, using hpsim 4.2 sp2, to get critical events through a firewall using only wbem (with wmi portmapping).
what would be the "right" way to monitor different locations each behind a firewall ?
one CMS in the DMZ with snmp enabled between the managed server and the cms ?
or a cms for each location ?
is there no "secure" way to monitor remote locations behind a firewall ?
are there any changes in the WBEM support in HPSSIM 5.0
regards

Re: alerting wbem firewall
Have you looked at this whitepaper from the HpSIM site?
ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/products/servers/management/hpsim/ManagingHPServers-withHPSIM.pdf
You may find your answers there.

Re: alerting wbem firewall
thank you, if already read the whitepapaer,
i just wanted to be sure, if there is really no possibility to manage remote sites using a "secure protocol".
what about hpsim 5, has anyone information about the implementation of wbem.
have a nice day
