Architecture, theory
Could somebody of us answer me the following question please
1.Where does Server agent store data? 2.Does server agent saved a collected data on the same computer or only can directly survey system by way of SNMP/DMI?
3.Where is configuration for server agent saved?
4.If Insight manager is used for configuration of polling procedure, treshold... is the settings set up only in Insight manager or in particular agents?
Thank you very much

Re: Architecture, theory
Generally the data is stored by HPSIM in a database (SQLServer, MSDE), the Agents are just used to gather the data.
Configuration information for the agents is stored in files in the compaq\wbem directory. But the Agents can be configured so that when they're deployed they update this information.
The thresholds are stored at the Agent level, again you can use HPSIM to replicate the settings from a selected Server to other Servers.
Polling, infomation gathering etc. is a function of HPSIM. So all the scheduling is done there.

Re: Architecture, theory
Server agents store data in the Windows Registry.
The MIB's and agents are compiled together and stores information in the registry.
