Automatic Event Handling - Clear Event

I am using HPSIM 4.2 SP2 on WIN2K SP4. When creating Automatic Event Handling, at Step 4 of 6, what does “Clear Event” mean ?
If I checked it, does it means this particular event will be cleared and email alert will NOT be sent ?

Yes. You are right. The cleared events typically means that the event is given attention to. Cleared events will not take part in the Banner alarm too!

I think it depends as to which one out of the email and clear events task gets activated first.

Maybe, you'll have to modify the event criteria such that the task doenot process those events meeting the criteria.
