I can enter a name on Step 1. But then on Step 2 (Select Events), the screen is just blank with the "previous" and "next" buttons at the bottom. Normally, this would show a pulldown with the Event types.
My browser shows the error:
Line: 118
Char: 5
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: https://HPSIM_name:50000/mxportal/search/AdvancedEventsSearch.jsp?inframe=alerts
This seems to indicate some sort of Java issue.
Has anyone seen this issue before?

Re: Automatic Event Handling Issue
When I try to create a new event with the name "test4", the following message is generated in my mx.log file:
@!@,2004-03-15 14:56:40 EST,CONFIG,FAILURE,LIST,TASK,test4,ERROR,domain\user,103,1801703282,
The name "test4" does not represent a object in this system.

Re: Automatic Event Handling Issue
I tried your suggestion but it did not solve this issue.
This issue seems to be on the server side. It occurs from any client and browser I have tried so far. The strange thing is that this functionality worked just fine a few days ago.
The one thing that I know changed during that time was that I experienced the loss of non-bold menu items and needed to delete a blade enclosure entry that had a space in its name (per another thread). This solved the menu problem.
I am tempted to uninstall and reinstall. However, I would rather find the cause of this problem than avoid it.

Re: Automatic Event Handling Issue
I still would like to find a solution to this issue in case it happens again or happens to others.

Re: Automatic Event Handling Issue
Clean OS install, brand new install of SIM. Ran autodiscovery and am trying to setup events handling. When I get to the "Select Events" screen (2nd page), I receive the following javascript error in the browser:
Line: 198
Char: 5
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Code:0
URL: https://manage.palarchio.local:50000/mxportal/search/AdvancedEventsSearch.jsp?
inframe=alerts
Problem occurs from both the machine running SIM and a remote browser.
Seems like a number of people are experiencing this. Any ideas?
