Automatic Event Handling problem.

I am running SIM 4.2 sp2 on w2k3 server. I am not getting all the availalbe options for automatic event handing. The last one shows up on my list is software/firmware on select system section. Anyone has any idea ???

thanks

Re: Automatic Event Handling problem.

David, I'm also experiencing this issue. I think there may be a bug with the event handling componenets of 4.2 sp2.

I believe I was previously able to select from a list of systems such as Servers, Printers, Management Processors, Network Devices, etc. Now however I receive a list of unuseful options as shown in the attached picture.

When setting up an event handling task, the 3rd step should allow one to select from a list of system types (Servers, Clients, Networking Devices, Printers, Mgmt. Processors, Racks, Enclosures) as defined by SIM, correct?

Now the list of systems does not contain any of these attributes. Is anyone else experiencing these issues? Is there a fix to this or is this a new 'feature'?

Re: Automatic Event Handling problem.

It looks like this is a off and on situation. One day, you will have completed list; however, next day you won't. I tried to reboot the server and it didn't work. Any has this problem ????

Yes, I am also experiencing the off and on effects of this issue. I was able to setup the event handling task today, but have not been able to for about 2 weeks prior. The full list is now displayed.

Please check your internet explorer security settings. It's the Windows server 2003 security settings that prevents you in doing this. I've encountered this problem before and able to solved it myself.

What setting did you change to solve the issue?

Re: Automatic Event Handling problem.

I'm running Windows 2000 and have experienced this problem. I don't believe the issue is specific to WIN2K3.

Try and create a new user and login as that user. For me new users do not have the problem only ones created before I upgraded.
