Automatic Event Handling SMTP Task Fails

I have recently upgraded to SIM 5.1 with SP1. After a restart SMTP notifications work as expected but about 24 hours later it stops. I can send generic traps to the CMS and they successfully appear in the SIM system log. However other alerts such as node up/down do not get logged and I no longer receive SMTP alerts until a reboot of the CMS occurs. Does anyone know what process/job/task/log etc controls this monitoring so I can investigate further?

I have the same problem. When I look up the task results it says "Some failures". No specific codes to look up. When rebooted it runs a day or two. I really need a fix for this.
