cannot delete system from sim db if container exists (vmm)
Hello,
Just to share the experience:
problem:
========
tried to delete a system from sim 4.2 db which is a vmware esx 2.1.2 virtual machine host and get ms ie message (see attached screenshot):
One or more systems for deletition is a container and contains other systems that are not deleted. Please delete the contained systems first before deleting the container system.
solution:
=========
find all systems that are hosted by the vm host (e.g. through the vmm console or advanced search using the system sub type category) and include them in the deletition list
In my case this was needed since the ilo management processor for some unknown reason was orphaned (the ip address was suddenly attributed to the vm host). After the above steps and autodiscovery the ilo was back in business.
Hope this helps some users.
Regards,
Stefan
