If i create a report in csv format it will not open in excel
Microsoft Excel cannot access the file
There are several possible reasons:
The file name or path does not exist
The file you're trying to open is being used by another program. Close the document in the other program, and try again.
The name of the workbook you're trying to save is the same as the name of another document that is read-only. Try saving the workbook with a different name.
I cannot save it either
I came acroos some similar problems on the WEB which suggested changing the HTTP headr in IIS.
That did not work.

SolutionCan you please verify(if you have administrative access on the CMS) if the file that the browser is trying to access is present under
And if present, does it have any data in it. If the file is present and has data in it then there might be issue with access to the file.
Also, can you please share the SIM log file after creating a csv report.
Thanks,
Arunav

Re: Cannot generate a CSV file in reports
I have few more questions:
a) Are you able to successfully create xml report?
b) Are you seeing the same problem while performing the same operation in Firefox 3.6?
Thanks,
Arunav

Re: Cannot generate a CSV file in reports
yes I am an administrator.
The csv file is being creaated coorectly and if i open excell and manually navigate to
\Program Files (x86)\HP\Systems Insight Manager\hpwebadmin\webapps\ROOT\mxportal\reports, I can open it fine
Firefox opens the file in a browser window
I do believe it is IE8. Ther are some articals on the WEB about downloading a file via SSL that speaks of the headers being sent.

Re: Cannot generate a CSV file in reports
Still does not work.
I was aware of the firefox work around. I'll navigate to the report directory and open it in excel.
Thank you again for your suggestions
