Cant access Insight Manager

Have tried to install HPSIM 5 on a Win2k3 SP1 box.
The install runs fine but errors at the end saying it cant start the HPSIM service or it is not running properly.
If I then do a mxinitconfig -a it passes all the way through to database population where it loops saying
"Waiting for HPSIM service to start"
The HPSIM service (hpsimsvc.exe) is started though, restarting it makes no difference.
The only error in the event log says
"mxdomainmgr caught RMIobj has gone away, stop MX imediately and it will restart"
I have no idea what the MXInventory is
Any ideas on the problem?

Has the account you've installed this from got admin rights?

Yes full admin rights
Even tried specifing a local admin account in the hpsim service properties
