Certificate Problem
Apologies but I am fairly new to the Insight Manager scene.
I have built a new SIM server and would like to deploy the Server Cert to all the agents to eliminate the requirement to logon.
When I try to replicate the agent settings for an agent which is working to another agent it states a trust must be setup before the job will run.
The original server failed so required a rebuild so I do not have the original certificate. Is there a way I can deploy the new certificate to the agents without the need to logon to each agent in turn and change the security to trust all. We have around 200 servers so that would be very painful
Thanks in advance
Chris

Re: Certificate Problem
The easiest way to do this with hpSIM would be to use OS security and the Initial ProLiant Support Pack Install to deliver an update with the new certificate. You can use the VCRM to create a custom Support Pack that only contains the management agent to minimize the amount of bits that have to be sent down the wire...

Re: Certificate Problem
Chris,
here's another alternative (since you mentioned Trust All as an option)
On one of your servers...set the Trust mode to Trust by name. Then put in the name of your SIM server. Restart your Foundation agent.
Then look under the C:\compaq\wbem\homepage directory for a file called cpqhmmdx.ini.
As a test ...copy this file to another target server and overwrite it's .ini file. Then restart it's Foundation agent and check and see if the Trust mode has now been duplicated.
I tried it a few minutes ago and it worked between 2 servers I have here. The trick is to get the file copied out to the rest of the targets and then do a "mass" net stop and start of the Foundation agent. I have a buddy who uses NetIQ to do that portion.
Good luck,
Ed
