Change System Name
How do I change the system name in SIM 4.1? In I/M 7.0, I could manually edit the device name.

Re: Change System Name
It uses DNS to resolve names.
You can override it by use of a Host file. Personally I found spending the additional time sorting out entries in the DNS a better approach buy YMMV.

Re: Change System Name
We have servers that may have multiple DNS entries for the same I/P address. There is no way to edit the device name?

Re: Change System Name
I think a Host file overrides the DNS, so I think that is the way to achieve what you want.
No you cannot just edit the device name.
In our DNS we do use Aliasing for adding additional names to an IP Addess and that seems to work fine. HPSIM sees only the Host address.
