Changing Administrator PW crashes SIM?

Hello everyone,

i have read a lot of threads in this forum about changing the Admin PW, but none of all those solutions out there helps me.

I have changed the Service-Account of HP SIM (it now run with the local admin account).
Since i did this, HP SIM records thousands of "Login failed Authentication" events for the local Administrator.

I have also changed the passwords of HP SIM with the mxpassword tool, but this had no effect.

Another problem is, that the server is running at 100% cpu all the time!

The processes causing this are mxpassword.exe and sometimes mxdomainmgr.exe

i have no more idea what can i do .. maybe somone of you guys can help me?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Changing Administrator PW crashes SIM?

Did you verify SA account connections ?

Re: Changing Administrator PW crashes SIM?

I checked all the ODBC connections and they reported successfully.

SQLServer service starts and I can open and log on to the Homepage of SIM, but I have thousands of Login Failed Authentication errors (appearing every 10 seconds).

Did you need any further informations?

Re: Changing Administrator PW crashes SIM?

btw, the odbc connection is configured to use Windows NT authentication instead of sql server authentication.

Re: Changing Administrator PW crashes SIM?

I also use a local admin account on my SIMS server. However, this account must also be a member of domain users and in a group that can access your domains servers.

These errors might be occuring when the SIMS server tried to access a domain server.
I believe our account is in an AD built in security group, server operator group.

Re: Changing Administrator PW crashes SIM?

Hi,

correct me if i am wrong, but a local Admin account cannot be a member of a domain group .. or what did you mean?!

Our local admin account can access all other servers as well..
