CIM7 Services terminates

I have CIM7 SP2 and the Service keeps terminating unexpectedly, any fixes for this?

Re: CIM7 Services terminates

I don't know of any issues where the Service Terminates unexpectedly.

When you hold the cursor over the Insight Manager SP2 at the top left, what version does it indicate.

There's now a 2.3, but I've not installed that. Mine says 2.1.

For Updates see:

Re: CIM7 Services terminates

I updated CIM 7 to 2.3 however I am now seeing java.exe has a mem leak and keeps going up to 800M and I have to kill the process and restart all the CIM services. Any ideas?

Re: CIM7 Services terminates

Hey Kevin.
I had the same issue with the service just crapping out. No errors anywhere. I did the same update as you and it's been pretty solid since then. My java.exe is taking up 62M of memory on my server but it doesn't seem to cause any problems. I've been keeping an eye on it and it does't seem to grow beyond that. Are you sure you have a memory leak? Does your java.exe process keep eating memory? I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it but I'm running my IM7 on a W2k3 server.

Re: CIM7 Services terminates

I am running on W2K sp4 IM2.3 I have noticed the java.exe will start out at 32m and then slowely climb. I saw it up at 850m a couple of days ago.

Re: CIM7 Services terminates

Doug, thanks so much for the link. Do you know what David means when he says "With the incorrect settings and without 127.0.0.1 (local loopback adapter) set in the snmp properties, the server will send authentication failure traps to the console; which would flood IM7 and make java.exe rise with memory " Does this mean the all servers connecting to the IM7 Server need this loopback address added to the SNMP properties or the IM7 itself needs this or both. I really don't understand what David is saying here can you help?

Re: CIM7 Services terminates

Hey Kevin.
I'm not exaclty clear myself. I know I don't have the local loopback adapter set either. I also don't have my trap destination set for the CIM server. Sorry I couldn't help much.
