decoding "overallstatus" in devices table
Hello,
We're working on a SQL script to automatically update another SQL database when a new server is added to SIM triggering on unique server names. However, we found that when we "delete" a server from SIM the server isn't actually deleted from the database. It's a status change. The problem we're encountering is related to the "overallstatus" in the devices table. We can't any information related to decode this field. If someone could point us in the right direction I'd appreciate it. Basically I just need to know what he different codes are so we can account for that in the SQL script.
Thanks much,
Jeff

Re: decoding "overallstatus" in devices table
Hi
How do you delete the server from the HP SIM server ?
COncerning the overall status, the online help of HP SIM can help you here. From the web interface, click on the big question mark on the right hand side, then type schema in the search tab. The first answer will drive you to all the different tables of the HP SIM db. Look now for the device one and in there you will find :
OverallStatus INT Indicates the overall status of the system (0 = Unknown, 1 = Normal, 2 = Warning, 3 = Minor, 4 = Major, 5 = Critical, 10 = No Status (occurs for new systems or on startup before polling))
Hope it helps!
regards
fred
