dell servers

Ok this might be a simple question of which i might have overlooked something but can the Version Control agent (VCA) be installed on a dell server specifically a poweredge 2950. I wish to keep track of drivers updates to those as well.

Ok if anything what are our options when it comes to Dell servers to connect and monitor them. We have a few Dell servers and none of them display the OS installed. They just are specified as Dell servers and that is it. I can connect to their page but still have to type in a UN and password. Can this be avoided like the HP servers.

Most of the agents etc. rely on HP specific drivers. So you're not going to get the same level of integration as for an HP Server. Also, the baseline for the VCA is all about HP specific drivers and firmware.

There is a whitepaper on the Dell site that details how to manage Dell Servers with HPSIM.

Dell do have a product called OpenManage.
