Disable Alerting for one Server
Are you able to disable email alerting for one server that may be going up and down while being fixed as a lot of alerts are generated during this time?
I know you can disable the alert itself or change the alert to exclude this server, but just wanted to know if theres a better way.
thanks.

Re: Disable Alerting for one Server
Not easily which is why I pass some of my Alerts through a perl script which reads a list of Servers to exclude.
The list is just a text file, so it's very easy to maintain.
The script then does the e-mailing or paging or whatever.

If the only agents you are using are the hp Insight Management Agents, you can uncheck the "Enable SNMP Sets" checkbox on the SNMP Settings tab within the hp Management Agents applet in the Control Panel.
If there are other, non-Insight Management Agents at play, consider removing temporarily the relevant trap destination within the SNMP Service.
