I am currently using HP SIM 4.2 and accidently click discover before I sort the host name entries. I would like to delete the devices I do not want but SIM won't allowed me to deleted it. Is there a way to delete unwanted devices even from SQL entries ?
Thanks

Re: discover devices
If not, perhaps you are logging in as a SIM user that does not have the required permissions?

Re: discover devices
If you want to delete the servers, click on the System Overview link on the left pane. Then, click the word TOTAL under Servers in the System Overview window.
Once the All Server Systems list comes up, just select the servers you want to delete. Be advised that all events associated to the server you delete will also be automatically deleted (including the Discovered System events).
Does this help?

SolutionThere are three ways you can avoid the discovery of unwanted servers.
1. Put the ipaddresses in the exclusion range.
2. uncheck "Automatically execute discovery every:" so that it does not execute everyday.
3. Make sure that the unwanted devices are not in the ping inclusion range.
I suggest option 1.
